Chicago Region Food System Fund
Chicago Region Food Fund website
The Chicago Region Food System Fund was born out of a need to provide emergency funding to the local food economy in the Chicago region as a result of COVID-19. The website and supporting materials we developed for the Fund were integral in the initial phase of their mission to provide immediate relief to food producers, processors and distributors in the region.
The bilingual website was created for two audiences: potential donors and potential applicants. Both audiences are greeted by an immediate call-to-action on the home page with two simple buttons directing visitors to apply or donate. A single page scroll design includes background on the Fund, information on applying for the fund and grant awardees, and a media section linking out to the extensive press coverage the Fund has received.
Since the launch of the website in June of 2020, the Fund has grown from an initial investment of $4.2M to more than $7.3M. As of October 2020, the Fund has awarded 85 grants totaling $3.97M focused on pandemic response projects.
